Our Equipment

We tried to get by on the farm without big equipment but we saw a FarmAll H with a bucket and couldn't resist. Luckily for us, it is already outfitted to burn ethanol. And we since found that, we also found out- all John Deer garden tractors are also ethanol ready.

The FarmAll is used for plowing snow in the winter, moving earth and doing all the haying and baling. It turned out to be a good buy and has saved us a lot of work that the electric tractor couldn't do in the same amount of time.

The Electrak is the other star of the farming operations. It came with a tiller, snow blower and mower deck. We're outfitting it with sweeps to keep the field crops free of weeds and a small bottom plow to dig up root crops. We also put the solar panels on it so it runs all day when the sun is out. Most people think the solar panels are a shade.

We have a single row planter from Earthway we plant our corn, beans and sugar beets with. We have wagons and ways to get around the farm and back acres faster than walking via a small 4-wheeler and golf cart. And that's about all we use around here.

We do want to cough up the funds for a manure spreader to go behind the Elec-trak and do more outfitting both tractors, but that's for another time.
